In response to the company ambition and strategy for data driven performance, the new Technology Data and Innovation (TDI) function within Technical Services is leading the affiliate in defining and implementing a data foundation based on the principals of data mesh and through effective federated data governance.
- The TDI mission is to make high quality data discoverable, accessible and drive a strong data management culture through the showcasing and delivery of best practices and knowledge transfer.
- In a fast-paced high evolution domain there is a requirement for continuous improvement and adaptation of new methodologies and competences, whilst complying with the confidentiality and security implications of the data being managed.
- Data Governance is a growing discipline within TotalEnergies which is fundamental to the facilitation and utilisation of data as an asset within TEPUK.

**About the role**:
Working within the Technical Data Management (TDM) team, a core part of the new TDI function, the job holder will build and implement the culture and practices associated with modern Data Governance.
- The role has responsibility to define and lead the implementation of an affiliate data governance and culture strategy & roadmap as part of an overarching TDI vision, in accordance with Company federated model(s).
- Taking direct line responsibility for a small Data Governance and Culture Team, the role will be required to deliver through development of new relationships with colleagues across the business
- Define, prioritise and animate a Data Governance Strategy and Culture within TEPUK, by leading the delivery of an affiliate Data Governance Roadmap through engagement with Data Owners in the wider business, including Geoscience and Surface Data Management, IS, SB Digital & Data, facilitated through the utilisation of the Data Domain Platform (DDP).
- Promote and animate data culture through planned initiatives, networks, and events, aligned to Company data culture approach, in support of overall data strategies.
- Build an affiliate Data Governance Roadmap (leveraging 3rd party engagement where necessary), which includes:

- Alignment to the affiliate Data Strategy
- Definition of the current landscape within TEPUK - areas of good practice, significant weaknesses
- Integration of the Group guidelines into a Data Governance roadmap that will outline steps required to implement Data Governance
- Identification of “Flagship” projects, to showcase value and end-to-end provisioning from modern Data Governance/Mgmt. best practices
- Work in partnership with Information Services (Data Security, Information Management and Data Compliance teams) to ensure Company Rules and Guidelines are understood, implemented, and complied with across the affiliate.
- Engage with relevant company bodies (OneTech/DataTech) to ensure the data governance roadmap aligns and makes best use of company initiatives to standardise and share a common approach to describing and managing data while ensuring Data Management initiatives within the affiliate are coherent with Group Data Governance guidelines and initiatives.
- Manage the deployment of the Data Governance tools, processes and documentation identified as critical within the roadmap, developing, and leading on data governance control processes to ensure effective data management.
- Define and monitor Data Governance metrics and reporting, to ensure transparency and communication of relevant successes and initiatives.
- Provide consultancy to Digital sprints around data governance methods and best practice to ensure alignment to company procedures as part of the transition of new digital products into production
- Develop and implement a communications plan which builds knowledge, awareness, and alignment of Data Governance activities across the affiliate.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required with the ability to effectively influence stakeholder relationships.

- At least a BSc degree in data management or Computer Science disciplines with significant professional experience in the Exploration & Production environment.
