**CNC Machining Manager
The Opportunity**:
In this role, you will **manage a shift** of c70 Operators and 2-3 Cell Leaders, within a complex, **multi value stream engineering business**.You will offer an in-depth knowledge of a busy **CNC workshop, including fabrications, machining, and hands on people management**.Our client operates within the **aerospace and defence** market to high tolerances.**You will be required to work across different shift patterns**, leading the activities of the cell to ensure that production targets are met and to improve cell performance. Theposition will actively promote CI improvements within the team whilst identifying and solving production problems as they arise.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead, motivate and coach all Production and CNC Operators and Cell Leaders through effective communication, coaching and recognition to promote continuous improvement in individual and process activities.
- Prioritise work to achieve cell daily/weekly/monthly requirements, monitor changes in production using visual management (day by hour), and adjust manning levels and prepare recovery plans for lost production.
- Champion of the value streams improvement and to continuously improve H&S, Quality, Delivery, VS lead-time (end to end flow)
- Work with Operations Manager and other teams to ensure that production flow is maintained and to required standards.
- Maintain and improve quality standards by ensuring that all process updates and alterations are compliant.
- Ensure that the cell has all the correct tools, fixtures, consumables & equipment to enable production and that at the end of the shift all are stored in the correct locations.
- Maintain a safe working environment & responsible for all HSE inspections and actions and rectifying issues within team and work area.

**Skills Required**:

- Ability to work shifts, NO WEEKENDS, but a mix of earlies, days, and nights.
- 5 years or more manufacturing experiencewithin a CNC environment
- Experience in leading teams within an Operations Environment
- NVQ 3 or equivalent in Supervision & Management
- Excellent numeracy and literacy
- Good understanding of CI and lean management techniques is desirable
