**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:

- Responsibilities will be to liaise with relevant clinical trial sponsor representatives, R & D department and NIHR, to ensure smooth set up of clinical trials, to liaise with internal service support departments in relation to research, to support the research activities of the Principal Investigators (PI), liaise with the Lead Research Nurse (LRN) and Research Nurses & Practitioners to ensure the trial portfolio is delivered in practice in relation to time and targets, be responsible for operational and financial management of the department and to maintain databases of trial activity including EDGE (Local Portfolio Management System).

- First Degree or equivalent in scientific/healthcare or related discipline
- Post graduate qualification/Working towards a masters or equivalent experience

- Adequate clinical research experience or equivalent in industry or healthcare
- Working knowledge of ICH GCP
- Working autonomously
- Working to deadlines
- Summarising scientific data/information

**Desirable criteria**:

- Report writing
- Working with clinical trials
- Experience of working in both the NHS and commercial setting
- Financial management
