NHFT have a strong track record for continuous innovation in our Mental Health and Learning Disability services, this work has been a transformation journey based on the principles of co-production, partnership working and recovery.

We are looking to recruit a new head of service into NHFT to cover our Crisis and Criminal justice pathways for approximately 12 months to cover a secondment. The post holder will work across a range of provisions and will develop excellent links with partner organisations including the police, courts, acute hospitals and ambulance.

You will be responsible for the continuation of our award willing co-produced services and will have a proven track record of developing innovative services and managing complex contracts. You will also have excellent clinical experience to ensure effective governance and will be able to evidence a history of strong leadership and change management.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Accountable for delivery of financial targets and controls.
- Accountable for delivering KPI’s.
- Accountable for delivery of clinical quality, safety and risk management in service areas.

To be responsible for operational performance indicators including contractual, financial, quality and safety and people, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.
- To provide effective and inspirational leadership to the Directorate in order to achieve effective integration and successful operational responsibility of the delivery of services.
- Ensures safe staffing establishments to provide effective day to day delivery by rigorous and effective use of e-rostering and minimising need for temp staff.
- Accountable for delivery of financial targets and control.
- Accountable for delivery of clinical quality, safety and risk management in service areas
- Accountable for operational delivery of service outcomes.
- Accountable for delivering contractual KPI’s.
- Provide leadership and manages talent pool across service lines.
- Ensures appropriate education, training and development is delivered across service lines
- Leads service redesign and change projects.
- To deputise for the Assistant Director and also lead on areas of external relationship management.
- To provide leadership holding ultimate accountability for operational delivery of service outcomes.
- Take over all managerial responsibility for a wide range of services within a specialist and complex pathway to ensure high quality, effective and efficient care. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and will be part of the “on call” and “out of hours” arrangements for the Trust.
- To lead the ongoing development of services and lead service redesign and change projects.
- Plan, organise and lead the development and implementation of complex business cases for new developments and innovations within the Directorate aligned to contractual obligations, commissioning intentions and Trust strategic priorities; using analytical judgement skills involving highly complex facts and situations when appraising a range of options for inclusion, each of which maybe multi-factorial.
- Formulate, adjust and schedule a broad range of complex annual strategic planning across the service, as dictated by the needs of the Trust and the service.
- Ensure safe staffing establishments to provide effective day to day delivery by rigorous and effective use of e-rostering and minimizing need for temporary staff.
- Ensure appropriate education, training and development is delivered across service lines.
- Lead of service redesign and change projects.
- To line manage Service Managers within the pathway.
- Be responsible for the performance monitoring of activity, on a daily basis where required, to support the achievement of the Directorate targets and to monitor subsequent actions required, to include all KPIs performance and governance aspects of all services.
- Be responsible for the delivery of a balanced budget, delivering a financial strategy which ensures financial viability and ensuring that there are systems in place to maximise income, control expenditure and to deliver cost improvements. This includes budget holding and setting, monitoring and determining corrective action for multiple departments/services within the Directorate remit.
