Degree in psychology or Counselling Skills is desirable for this post

**Responsible for**:
Working in partnership with Primary Mental Health Support Services
(PMHSS) and GP Practises to deliver guided self-help designed to provide early interventions provision within Primary Care. Working with the concepts of social inclusion and recovery. Working directly with GP surgeries delivering the CCI’s and facilitating psycho-educational courses in community venues.

**1. Core Duties and Responsibilities**

To deliver guided self-help using the Centre of Clinical Interventions (CCI’s) in
GP across Cardiff delivering 9 different courses:
Assertiveness, Self-Esteem, Depression, Panic, Worry, Perfectionism,
Procrastination, Social Anxiety and Distress Intolerance.

To Co-facilitate and co-deliver the psychoeducational courses - Stress
Control and ACT-ion for living

To be responsible for a caseload/s of patients

To work with clients to overcome early signs of mental health distress.

To use outcome measures - The Recovery Star and CORE34 and CORE 10

To maintain records on the database in line with policy and procedures

To build and maintain positive relationships with key partner agencies such as
GP practise staff

To promote the concept of social inclusion, early intervention and recovery

To participate in supervision with the relevant manager and attend training as required.

To use excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills with the ability to empathise and positively engage with people.

To carry out any other tasks reasonably required

To accurately and efficiently manage all administration processes with the help of the administrator.

**2. Access to information**

To ensure that the Service user is able to access information not only on services available in Cardiff and issues relating to the needs of people with mental health problems, but also to general information that will enable them to make informed decisions and fully participate as citizens.

**3. Provision of Information**

3.1 To ensure that Service Users are able to access accurate and quality information on issues relating to their general well-being. This will include being able to sign-post to other agencies with specialist expertise as well as having a broad personal knowledge base.

3.2 To have information available about other services and facilities available in Cardiff.

**5. Organisation Issues**

5.1 To carry out administrative duties as required of the efficient running of the project and of Cardiff Mind, including the maintenance of activity data.

5.2 To take an active part including preparation for supervision, performance review, team meetings and other organisational meetings.

5.3 To participate in clinical supervision with the PMHSS supervisor

5.4 To develop own professional skills and work to current best practice.

5.5 To take part in the development of policy and procedure and other organisational concerns

5.6 To challenge discrimination and work to Cardiff Minds equal opportunities policy and its values.

5.7 To maintain good working relationships and a professional approach with external workers and agencies.

5.8 To maintain the confidentiality of information and respect the rights of service users, staff and the organisation.

5.9 To work to within the policies, guidelines and procedures of the organisation and to assist the organisation to achieve it's overall aims and objectives.

5.10 To undertake such other duties as may be required to provide a quality service commensurate with expertise and experience.
