Manage internal audit systems and conduct internal audits
- Management of the online Quality systems e.g. online quality system, process flow.
- To develop, review and improve reporting and tracking tools.
- To investigate customer complaints
- Responsible for the creation of labels and management of the labelling system
- Responsible for management of UPDATE system
- Responsible for allergen system (annual validations, imprrovement action plans, implementation of the changes to allergen system, creation and update of procedures and risk assessments).
- Responsible for organising and review of the external testing (Allergen testing) and internal testing (pH testing, allergen testing).
- Resolving quality and food safe issues, which arise, suggesting and implementing prevention procedures and practices.
- Responsible for retention samples management W2
- Organisation and completion of the taste panels required by customers W2
- Organoleptic/taste panel training of staff.
- Daily monitoring of product quality and liaising with supplying site regarding it W2
- To send internal supplier complaints, review the response to ensure it is appropriate to ensure food safety and quality of raw materials as per agreed specification.
- Product on hold management at Wigston 2.
- Taking part in trials, tracking, planning, organisation and review during NPD/ EPD at W1 and W2
- Working with NPD team to ensure the product testing (organoleptic and micro) is completed prior launch of product with satisfactory results W2
- Organise and review product testing during NPD/EPD at W1.
- Creation and update of factory and customers photo standards/ QASs.
- Creation and update of procedures/ factory documents/ records during NPD/EPD.
- Positive release of raw materials at W2.
- To assist the Quality Manager in implementation and integration of new standards (3rdparty, regulatory, customers, group) into internal procedures.
- To carry out standards, internal monitoring and continuous improvement audits/checks.
- To support the Quality Manager in training activities.
- To identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the quality and food safety systems through shop floor observations, trend analysis, etc.
- To develop and agree improvement action plans, liaising with other departments/suppliers/ contractors.
- Following up and communicating the implementation of action plans.
- Participate and lead some of the Continuous Improvement projects
- To carry out traceability tests and ensure the traceability procedures are followed.
- To write standards of work.
- To raise and investigate non-conformities, liaising with all relevant departments
- IT - Office, Windows, Access, Powerpoint, ability to use Macro in Excel and Acess and to create databases from scratch.
- HACCP level 3 training and auditing and Food Safety level 3
- HND/Degree in food technology is preferable, but not essential if sufficient expereince can be demonstarted.
- Knowledge of the quality and food safety management standards (e.g. BRC, ISO, Group, Customers)
- Ability to analyse trends and problems, make recommendations/decisions
- Ability to lead, plan, organise and motivate others
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to develop procedures
- Internal auditing training
- Taste panels and sensory assessment training
- Excellent people skills
- Team player
- Good written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Attention to detail, very organised.
- Flexibility (role may involve working some weekends and Bank Holidays)
- Cover the product release on Saturday in rotation with other members of the quality team
