We are looking for a **dynamic Deaf person, or hearing with at least Level 2 BSL**, to come and join our team. This position has come at a very exciting time here at Deafway.

Full-time or Part-Time will be considered.

**Job Title**:Health & Wellbeing Activities Coordinator

**Accountable to**:Events, Fundraising and Volunteers Manager

**Hours of Work**: Monday - Sunday (as per contract of employment).

An average of 36.25 hours per week, flexible to meet the needs of the service as there will be some weekend, evening work and occasional overnights away whilst on trips with residents.

**Salary**:£20,735.00 per annum

**Holidays**:5.6 weeks per annum including statutory Bank/Public Holidays

**Purpose of the job**:

- To create and coordinate a variety of activities that meet the needs of all residents.
- To ensure that these activities are diverse, educational, and supportive of building life skills.
- To ensure that each resident has an individual programme of activities that meet their assessed needs or as required by the resident, funding authority and Deafway residential management team.
- In conjunction with resident’s keyworker, to ensure that all activities are coordinated following all health and safety policies and the individuals care plan / risk assessments.

**Tasks**:
The tasks outlined are not an exhaustive list and will vary within the boundaries of the purpose of the job to meet the challenging needs of the service.
- To liaise with local health, social, educational and employment services and other non-statutory or voluntary organisations to identify services, facilities or opportunities which would be of benefit to residents living at Deafway.
- To work with team leaders, support workers and management to ensure there is a full range of activities available on and off site that meet the needs of all the residents and to create opportunities for all residents to be involved.
- In conjunction with care staff, ensure that each resident is offered the opportunity to be involved in activities on a daily basis.
- To organise and attend resident’s holidays as required by residents and/or the support services management team.
- To attend monthly community meetings on site to discuss with residents their ideas and aspirations and create activities and plans to match those.
- To support the residents and support services management team in setting and maintaining high quality standards of service.
- To ensure an accurate and up-to-date record is kept of all resident’s activities to meet with care plan regulations.
- To support and encourage residents to participate in as many activities as possible as they can and to promote their independence and wellbeing.
- To assist in promoting and maintaining own and others’ health, safety and security as defined in the Health & Safety Policy, Fire Procedures and updated practices and procedures as they become necessary.
- To support the equality, diversity and rights of residents and colleagues.
- To act in a way that recognises the importance of people’s rights, interpreting them in a way that is consistent with Deafway procedures and policies, and current legislation.
- To attend supervision sessions with the Events, Fundraising and Volunteer Manager.
- To work effectively as part of a team and support all colleagues as required.
- To ensure professional conduct observing the Deafway Code of Conduct.
- To be aware of and ensure Confidentiality of information, including Data Protection Act and GDPR considerations.
- To observe all necessary legislation involved in this position, including the Deafway Health & Safety Policy and Fire Procedures and updated practices and procedures as they become necessary.
