**Job description**

We are looking for a full-time or 2 x part-time Caretaker(s) to join the Lincolnshire Showground team.

The venue is home to the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, who host a range of events, concerts, conferences, exhibitions, balls, training days and awards dinners, as well as the iconic Lincolnshire Show.

You will be highly motivated, happy to work independently, excellent attention to detail and driven to deliver outstanding customer service.

**Please note: This role is a very physical and fast-paced role.**

Main duties and responsibilities are listed below:

- Setting up all meeting rooms, including moving tables and chairs daily
- Key holder for all Showground buildings, being responsible for opening and closing the buildings.
- Hoover and mop all surfaces within the buildings.
- Collect and dispose of any litter within the properties and surrounding areas.
- Wipe any communal windowsills and clean from inside with glass cleaner.
- Support the grounds team with external event set-up and delivery.
- Assist with sweeping and deposing of any fallen leaves.
- Report any problems/ faults to the Head of Operations
- Ensuring all external doors, windows and fire exit doors are kept closed, and where applicable locked at all times.
- Visual inspection of all drains and gutters (including roof area) to ensure they are free from rubbish/debris/obstruction.
- Maintain external terrace area by sweeping and litter picking.
- Clear footpaths and steps of snow and ice in adverse conditions
- Regular testing of smoke/fire alarms, emergency lights, fire doors
- Carry out maintenance work around the development as instructed by senior management.
- Conduct routine painting and decorating of the communal areas as directed by senior management.
- Porterage duties
- Perform general caretaking duties, including cleaning and maintaining the premises.
- Restocking supplies as needed
- Adhering to safety guidelines and protocols

Desirable skills/ qualifications:

- Previous experience in commercial cleaning is preferred
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Excellent communication skills
- COSHH
- Manual handling
- Working at Heights
- IPAF 3a (Desirable)
- Telehandler experience (Desirable)

This is a full-time role (40 hours per week), however, job sharing applicants will be considered. The role includes weekend and evening working.
- Hours 40 per week with an opportunity to work additional hours in peak months.
- Must have a full driving license and have own vehicle.
- Capable of passing DBS clearance checks

**You will be**:
Hard working and have a “hands-on” attitude. You will also have an eye for detail, and the ability to work quickly. Experience working in a similar role would be an advantage.

**Salary**: From £22,000.00 per year
