**Job summary**:

- The Marketing and Communications team plays an exciting and vital role in building and protecting UK Export Finance’s brand and reputation in the UK and overseas. The team works together to raise awareness and generate business leads through our paid, earned, and owned channels. This includes press, marketing, campaigns, events, social media, external affairs, internal and strategic communications.**Job description**:
The Head of Digital Communications is a key role within the Marketing and Communications leadership team, reporting to the Deputy Director of Marketing and Communications. The role requires passion, innovation and expertise in social media, content creation and effective use of UKEF’s digital channels (including web and SEO) to raise awareness and generate leads. This role requires a high level of creativity and attention to detail, a strong understanding of brand and editorial, and the ability to work at pace to deliver impactful, high-quality content across a range of channels and formats. You will be a collaborative team leader, able to strategically drive engagement, alongside hands-on daily management of the digital team. You will be proficient at developing plans, prioritising activity, delivering effective and high impact content, and evaluating the effectiveness of digital communications.

You’ll have a keen interest in emerging digital trends and be able to use data and insight to tell stories, evaluate the performance of content, and build content strategies. You will be able to grasp complex technical issues and make them understandable to non-technical audiences. You will have outstanding written and verbal communications skills and experience in digital and social communications or a related communications discipline.

Working closely with the wider team and stakeholders, you’ll identify opportunities to work with a variety of partners to amplify UKEF’s key messages, seamlessly deliver campaigns and announcements, and monitor and mitigate reputational risks.

You’ll be responsible for our websites and gov.uk pages, ensuring these are fit for purpose, up to date, and managed in accordance with government standards. You’ll be proactive in continually improving our external channels and leading any updates or changes to our online presence.

**Person specification**:

- Deliver UKEF’s digital communications strategy, reporting to the Deputy Director of Marketing and Communications.
- Manage a digital communications team of 3 FTEs to deliver at pace, create high quality content and lead on UKEF’s digital channels, aligning to our wider brand and campaign.
- Lead UKEF’s social media strategy, using innovative approaches to identifying and targeting influencers, amplifying UKEF messages, building our narrative, reaching media and other key stakeholders, and sharing content with wider government and partners.
- Lead on UKEF’s websites and content, including SEO, digital forms and tracking etc, ensuring our gov.uk site and other websites are fit for purpose, deliver an excellent customer journey, and conform to digital accessibility standards. Responsible for managing updates, changes to our websites, publishing of information and continually improving our web channels (including gov.uk and the intranet).
- Horizon scan on social and digital channels to identify reputational risks
- Lead digital analytics, setting clear KPIs and metrics, selecting and deploying tracking tools, and reporting on performance.
- Work with a broad range of stakeholders, including the Head of News and Head of Marketing Campaigns to develop and implement content for digital communications around key announcements, media activity, ministerial activity, and events.
- Horizon scan for risks and reputational issues, and report on channel and content performance and respond appropriately, escalating where required.
- Provide expertise on social media and digital channels and optimise performance based on our target audience and objectives.
- Lead editorial for the team, with the ability to deliver best practice creative content including, video, brochures, social media copy, web copy, live streaming, interviews etc.
- Track and use data and insight to inform digital communications activity, bring insight to the wider team as part of our holistic marketing and communications activities, and continually improve our offering.
