**Do you have experience working with children in Residential Children's Home as a Deputy Manager or Senior Support Worker/Team leader?**

We are looking to recruit dynamic Deputy Manager, Senior Support Worker/Team leader to join our residential childcare team as part of our dedicated long term solo placements homes. The children placed with us are often moving on from a crisis or placement breakdown and will potentially be displaying exceptionally challenging behaviours. We work with vulnerable children through activities, long-term programmes, building self-esteem and confidence to support the stability of there long-term placement and education with us.

**Shift pattern**:45 hours per week including sleeps, Shift times: Start 10AM-11PM - (sleep 11PM - 8AM) Off shift the following day 10:30AM (3x per week) lots of overtime available. Weekend working is included rota patten in place.

**Pay**: £13.50 per hour £90 per sleep in. (£292.50 per day)

**Essential requirements**:

- You will be compassionate, resilient and committed to being a positive role model.
- Able to do overnight sleep-ins which are part of the role.
- Confident in managing challenging behaviours.
- Flexible, working a residential care rota which includes evening, weekends and holiday periods.
- Come in and hit the ground running
- Able to lead a staff team
- Develop and support support workers
- Completing supervisons
- Implement things into the home
- Being organised and working fast paced
- On call duties
- Rota management and covering shifts
- Understanding of OFSTED
- Supporting with reg 44
- Managing risk
- liaising with lead professionals
- Checking documentation with a fine tooth comb
- Supporting the home manager
- Auditing paper work to a high standards
- Writing care plans and completing/updating risk assessments
- Willing to work above and beyond

**Requirements**:

- A full UK driving licence and access to a car to get to work.
- Experience of supporting vulnerable young people within a residential care environment, or another professional setting.
- NVQ level 3 in children's health and social care or equivalent or willing to work towards
- Experience as: Deputy Manager, Senior Support Worker/Team leader

**Purpose of the role**:

- First and foremost to provide excellent unconditional care for our children. Supporting every child to feel valued and safe; ensuring their physical, emotional and everyday needs are met.
- Maintaining the home and the welfare of each child ensuring they access a healthy balanced diet and routine. Moreover, ensuring the home is clean, tidy and that each child is supported to attend health appointments and education.
- To provide a consistent, high-quality service that supports the assessed needs of young person and to advocate for their well-being. This will include a level of written work completing daily records and contributing to reports and assessments.
- Through activities, help children develop self-esteem, a feeling of safety and personal strategies to to deal with unhelpful behaviour and thoughts, and ultimately to achieve their optimum potential.
- Support and promote a positive safeguarding culture.
- To actively promote and engage in promoting creativity, openness and a strong teamwork ethic.
- To support a culture where people are valued and supported to make a difference to the lives of others.
- Support or lead, where appropriate, a wide range of activities/daily tasks.
