We are looking for an Accommodation & Student Support Officer to join our team in Chelmsford

**Salary**: £23- £26,500

**Fixed Term (6 months)** - Full Time

**Accommodation & Student Support Office Duties**:
**Student Accommodation**
- Contact all January 2023 intake enrollers to determine accommodation status.
- Maintain records of accommodation status for all students.
- Deal with student queries and agent queries on accommodation.
- Support with communications, webinars with students, etc.
- Engage with the University Residential Services team on a regular basis.
- Engage with Home Stay and emergency accommodation providers when required.

**Other responsibilities may include (but are not limited to)**:
**Student Orientation & Induction**
- Support the development and implementation of an effective and enjoyable orientation programme.
- Ensure that College colleagues, student representatives and student ambassadors are well trained and available as necessary to assist with the arrival, orientation, and enrolment processes of new and returning students.
- Arrange airport meet and greets and Navinsure (insurance cover for international students studying in the UK), where appropriate.
- Support students with the checking of their timetables.

**Student Support**
- Faculty engagement activities, maintenance of student records and general administrative duties related to the academic lifecycle.
- Support to ensure the prompt payment of fees, commissions, and student & sponsor debt.
- Support student attendance monitoring processes, escalating absences as appropriate to key stakeholders.
- Support our students' wellbeing by taking an active role in our COMPASS programme (holistic support for students considered to be vulnerable by reason of age, mental health, physical health or disability).
- Participate in the College's 24/7 out-of-hours response programme.
- Effective student communication via portals and other media/online technologies/social media.
- Support initiatives within the scope of the Collective programme (network to develop and promote our extra-curricular activities and events).

**Accommodation & Student Support Office Requirements**:

- University level qualifications, preferably in an Accounting, Finance, Maths or Business
- related field.
- or at least two (2) years' experience in a relevant industry and/or have equivalent
- qualifications and/or professional experience.
- Solutions-orientated quick-thinker.
- Experience of working with data systems and a good understanding of the importance of file management (including electronic files).
- Have the ability to communicate with staff and students from a diverse range of cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, in particular formulas and functions.
- Good data analysis and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail.
- A strong team player who is also able to work autonomously.
- The ability to use Microsoft Office to present data in various formats.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of equal opportunity, equity and workplace health & safety principles and the ability to implement them.
- Enthusiastic and ambitious with a positive, yes-we-can mindset.
- Resilient in the pursuit of customer service excellence.
- Flexible attitude to work weekends and evenings in support of student and administrative activities (at enrolment or open days and with prior notice).
- Able to travel between campuses when necessary, and with prior notice.

**Desirable**
- Customer service qualification.
- Experience in a Higher Education or Independent Education setting.
- Knowledge of student finance and student accommodation.
