**Post Title**: Deputy Director, Student Administration Service**Department**: Academic Registry**FTE**: 1.0 FTE, working 37 hours per week**Duration of contract**: Permanent**Salary**: AM1 £63,280pa with potential to progress to £69,907 pa on achieving designated skills and experience**Location**: College Lane Campus, Hatfield- An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Director, Student Administration Service to join the Student Administration Service senior management team at the University of Hertfordshire.- Student Administration Services is seeking to recruit a Deputy Director, Student Administration to support the Director, Student Administration Services, and act as their deputy, with a particular focus on the overall management and co-ordination of Student Finance and Student Immigration (Advice and Compliance) on behalf of the University. Other key responsibilities include the management of all projects across the Student Administration Service.-
**Main duties and responsibilities**
- As Deputy Director, Student Administration, you will be responsible for the leadership of key administrative functions of the University, supporting and enabling students to achieve their goals. You will have a broad range of management responsibilities including operational, financial, change, and human resource management. You will be supported by and have line management responsibility for two Section Heads.- As Deputy Director, Student Administration, you are responsible for all issues relating to Student Finance and Student Immigration. You will work closely with the Heads of Student Administration, the Head of Student Information Service, Deans and Associate Deans of Schools, and other key stakeholders to ensure a good student experience and the provision of a quality and responsive student administration service.- You will liaise with external professional and regulatory bodies to ensure the provision of management information and adherence to external standards, regulations, and expectations and be expected to develop strong professional relationships with key external groups to achieve operational objectives**Experience and skills required**
- You will have substantial experience of working in a complex HE environment with proven experience of leading and managing the operation of at least one of the common services in a higher education Registry function.- With recent experience of change management, you will be committed to continuous improvement. Previous experience in working in cross-functional teams is desirable.- You will have extensive experience of problem solving and working under pressure while coordinating the provision of an effective service. Exceptional people management skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and motivate are essential, as is the ability to develop strong working relationships with staff at all levels.- This role would suit the skill and knowledge set of one that has been, or is currently, immersed in the operational delivery of student administration, including management of the processes that support the activities. This is an exciting role which will lead the shaping of the future landscape in relation to technology and process enhancements within the Student Administration Service.**Qualifications required**
