We have an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in robotics, metrology, and collaborative automation systems research. We are looking for a Technical Fellow for Automation to join and help grow our applied research capability. You will be working in our new state-of-the art facility at Samlesbury, Lancashire, in a well-connected team with world-leading reputations in the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.

This role will be based in the area of Battery and Automation within the AMRC Northwest facility, you will take responsibility for a team researching automation challenges in a variety of sectors such as aerospace and automotive. This will include the line management of project engineers working on various technology development projects. An important aspect of the role will be to steer the technical direction of the team whilst ensuring current projects are delivered successfully.

**You will**:

- Be educated to PhD level (or equivalent industrial experience).
- Have a proven track record of technical delivery when leading development projects.
- Have a substantive knowledge of accurate robotics, metrology, industrial control, machine vision, and collaborative automation systems.
