Our offices are at the Wickbourne Centre which is owned by the Church. We also own premises at 102-104 The Street, Rustington where we lease offices to tenants upstairs and our Playcentre downstairs. **Youth Support Worker - Role Purpose**:
To be responsible for delivering creative youth work programmes in response to the needs of young people aged 11 - 18.

**Key tasks**:
1. To be engaged in face-to-face youth work in one of our Youth Club sessions / drop-ins. Supporting the Youth Worker in Charge in delivering any activities.

2. Ensuring that young people play an active role in programmes and activities and work towards a model of youth participation, encouraging young people to broaden their horizons and be active in AYP projects and in their community

3. Assist young people to express and realise their goals

4. Communicate effectively and build positive relationships by developing a rapport with young people enabling young people to work effectively in groups

5. Support young people in their understanding of risk and challenge and in taking action to address key issues in their lives, whilst challenging oppressive behaviours

6. To liaise with 3rd parties including councils, schools, parents and other agencies in agreement with your line manager

7. To contribute to reports on youth club sessions and promptly report any safeguarding incidents to the line manager following established procedures.

**Other duties**:
To attend and participate in related meetings such as training events, staff meetings, supervision, appraisal and other appropriate courses as required.

**Work Pattern**:Part-time, 2-3 hours per week, **dependent on session**. Working hours are Mondays 4:45pm-6:45pm / Tuesdays 7:00pm-9:30pm / Wednesdays 6:45pm-9:15pm / Thursdays 6:30pm-9:30pM/Fridays 5:45pm-8:15pm

**Salary Range**:£11.36 per hour

**Contract**:Fixed Term until October 2025

**Pension**:Employer contributions start at 5% of salary

**Annual Leave**:23 days per annum pro rata (of which 3 must be taken between Christmas and New Year), plus Bank Holidays.

**Probation Period**:6 months

- Desirable: NVQ2/3 or above in youth work or related field
