Leicester, United Kingdom University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Trust’s Referral to Treatment (RTT) team as a validator for a 12-month fixed period.

The RTT team reviews all patients on an elective care pathway to ensure that the records are accurate, and patients are seen in a timely manner. As a validator, you will be working alongside Improvement Co-ordinators to ensure;
- Patient records are accurate and reported locally and nationally in the correct time scales
- CMGs are supported with real time validation of the PTL
- Any areas of concern are raised to support the team objective of getting things right for the patient

This role will support the Improvement Co-ordinators and admin manager and will require you to be a person that has a sharp attention to detail and that can work as well autonomously as they can in a team.

We are looking to recruit a number of highly motivated individuals that are passionate about getting correct outcomes for patients and that are interested in furthering their administrative career within the NHS by learning the value of correct data outcomes and how that can positively impact on patient care.

Informal discussions are actively encouraged so if you believe that you have the skills required and would like to discuss this further, please see the below contact details;
- To be proficient in the use of the current patient administration systems (HISS) to validate the patients’ Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathway.
- To work with operational staff to ensure that complete, accurate and timely data is recorded on the computerised system to the highest quality standard in accordance with the national and local guidance, in particular the Trust’s Referral to Treatment Policy.
- To work with operational staff ensuring that patients’ waiting times are validated and accurately reflected within the 18 weeks RTT PTL in line with Department of Health guidance. This will involve identifying 18 week clock starts through the use of PAS and reviewing letters. To review Diagnostic Waiting Times and other PTL’s as required.
- Required to communicate complex information and processes re: RTT to all relevant staff so that they understand the possible implications
- To work with all relevant staff to prospectively validate potential breaches to the 18 week target/6 week diagnostic standard where relevant.
- To undertake any other duty as requested by your supervisor which is appropriate to the grade to ensure the smooth running of the central RTT team.
