**Job Purpose**:
Deliver our holistic range of needs-led, strengths-based, trauma-informed services, offering practical and emotional specialist domestic abuse support to clients who are experiencing or have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse within your designated area of responsibility across North Powys.

Proactively support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation, to help them regain control of their lives, and to act as advocate where appropriate to their needs and wishes.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Deliver specialist training and programmes on a group or 1:1 basis to those who are, or have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse and to specialist services or other organisations as required.

**Main Duties**:
Contribute to the development and production of specialist programmes and training packages and of training materials, ensuring consistency and quality of content and delivery to meet the specific needs of clients and learners.

Assess the risk and emotional and practical needs of a client, liaising with key workers regarding any issues or concerns for clients attending the programmes.

Promote and increase awareness of the training and programmes within the community and to specialist services and agencies.

Provide practical information and assistance to clients about local specialist and generic services to widen and enhance their support networks.

Support parents to identify and address key issues relating to their children, promoting positive parenting and the welfare of children/young people and actively encouraging parents to refer their family for 1:1 support and/or group programmes.

Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases, complying with data protection legislation and respecting the safety, security and confidentiality of clients and staff and all records or information held.

Respect and value the diversity of the community, recognising the needs and concerns of a diverse range of survivors ensuring the service is accessible to all in line with MFCC Equal Opportunity and Diversity Policies observing the standard of conduct which prevents discrimination taking place.

Ensure that any safeguarding matters are dealt with in accordance with MFCC safeguarding policies and procedures.

Work within a multi-agency framework to improve responses to domestic violence and abuse, taking part in MARAC, safeguarding and associated processes, developing and maintaining good working relationships with other relevant agencies.

Support colleagues and partner agencies, through awareness raising and institutional advocacy, in order to provide the best possible service for victims and survivors of domestic abuse, i.e. challenge unhelpful or damaging attitudes to the understanding of Domestic Violence & Abuse.

Feedback client views to support the development and improvement of MFCC services.

Take responsibility for personal and professional development and growth with a willingness to undertake and complete relevant training and qualifications.

Participate in the 24 hour emergency On Call system.

Work flexibly when required, this may include, at times, weekend and evening work.

At all times work in a safe and efficient manner and be aware of the Lone Working Policy / Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.

Report and address any health and safety concerns or maintenance issues in line with MFCC policies and procedures.
