**About The Service**
The Education and Lifelong Learning Directorate provides the strategic, professional and operational support to enable the Council to fulfil its responsibilities for early years education, statutory age education, education in school sixth forms and a youth service.

There are 127 schools in Cardiff consisting of 3 nursery schools, 98 Primary Schools, 18 Secondary Schools, 7 Special Schools & 1 Pupil Referral Unit.

The work of the Directorate is organised into six service areas: Partnerships & Performance, Inclusion Services, Targeted Services, Key Groups, Services to Schools, and School Organisation and Access and Planning.

Each of these supports the overall purpose of improving the achievement of learners. The Directorate also commissions the Central South Consortium to provide School Improvement Services to all of its schools.

**About the job**

To establish recommendations for the implementation of improvements.

To support the Admissions Manager to deliver improvements in Admissions processes.

To support the efficient and timely management of admissions, in particular complex In Year admissions cases, in accordance with agreed protocols and processes.

**What We Are Looking For From You** **To be the lead officer responsible for the development of digital and processing improvements for in year admissions.

To develop a log of recommendations to inform an improvement strategy and implementation plan.

To develop recommendations with a view to creating efficiencies and a more sustainable model for in year admissions processes.

To lead on development for digital customer service improvements with partners Connect to Cardiff and local Hubs.

To secure maximum use of current, and emerging, digital technology to enhance customer contact and to secure effective, efficient administration, verification and allocation of education places.

To proactively capture, analyse and use lessons learnt from In Year trends and data to improve admissions processes.

To support the administration of admissions in accordance with agreed processes and protocols for in year admissions, as required by the Admissions Manager.
