Health & Safety Co-ordinator

Ashvale Civil Engineering are looking for a Health and Safety co-ordinator to help manage the environmental and H&S requirements across the company.
Based at our Head Office, you will be working on a variety of construction projects. Projects include new build, refurbishment, extensions, groundworks, road works, drainage and more.
You will be shadowing the SHE manager and learning the role, training support will be given for your qualifications in Health & Safety as you progress the role will entail liaising with clients, subcontractors and site operatives and managers, you will be responsible for auditing training requirements and site inspections ensuring compliance of all health and safety policies, procedures and regulations. Site visits / audits and subcontractors will be required, along with Helping the SHE manager with the updating and progressing of company policies and procedures.
**The responsibilities include**:
- Ensure that the highest standards of Health and Safety are maintained at all times.
- Helping and updating the management of health and safety policies and procedures
- Creation and reviewing of risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments.
- Pre-construction / Construction Phase Plan and H&S file creation and management
- Undertake site audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and reporting on the findings.
- Assessing and managing safety hazards, including completion of H&S paperwork.
- Ensuring appropriate site rules and welfare facilities are in place.
- Carrying out regular health and safety inspections.
- Ensure compliance on all sites.
- CDM advice and guidance
- Conduct training, toolbox talks, inductions and investigate incidents, where required.
- Develop and implement best practice to improve performance.
- Attending site and management meetings.
- Work collaboratively with external and internal departments to ensure smooth running of health and safety on site, taking appropriate action to address issues or concerns in a timely manner.
**Requirements**:
- Interest into Health and Safety as a career.
- CSCS (preferred but not necessary).
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent IT skills and experience in Microsoft Office / 365, including word, excel, outlook, powerpoint, teams, etc.
- Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels.
- Self motivated and looking to progress in your career.
- Able to work under pressure to maintain deadlines.
- Articulate in written and oral English communication.
- Personally presentable at all times.
**Benefits**:
- Salary range £26k to £32k per annum (depending on experience).

**Experience in a similar UK based role preferred but not necessary.**
