**Salary - £26,000 pro rata**

We have a great opportunity in Ashford for a Family Support Caseworker to work for one of our clients. In this role, you will be working full-time on either a permanent basis or a short-term contract until May 2023.

**As the Family Support Caseworker your duties will include**:

- Develop meaningful and trusting relationships with children, young people, and their families
- Provide a consistent, reliable and outcome-focused support service to a caseload of families
- Undertake a strengths-based assessment and develop a clear set of objectives and targeted outcomes
- Provide practical and creative support to ensure progress is made towards shared objectives
- Monitor the outcome plan, ensuring the actions are being met in a timely manner
- Establish and maintain effective multi-agency links with the key partners, particularly schools and employment agencies
- Be alerted to safeguarding issues within a family, raising these with their line manager and Safeguarding Lead as well as raising immediate concerns with the Front Door
- Support and enable families to exit the service successfully, with change sustained
- Attend and participate in all relevant multi-agency meetings, professional’s meetings, case conferences, panels, and relevant neighbourhood meetings, and prepare detailed reports as required
- Develop excellent relationships with a range of staff across Early Help, Adult and Children’s Services as well as with non-statutory partner agencies
- Participate in specialist training, as identified by the line manager, and facilitate intervention programmes when required

**Skills and Experience**
- Educated to degree level or above, or with a relevant professional qualification or experience
- Strong IT foundation and at home with MS Office products
- Knowledge of the 'Think Family’ approach
- Up-to-date knowledge of child development, national policy and legislation related to young people and families
- An understanding of the barriers to school attendance, particularly Emotional School Based Avoidance
- An understanding of Safeguarding and Data Protection legislation
- Experience in community-based lone working
- Experience working directly with children and young people to achieve positive change
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be able to model solution-focused thinking
- Good understanding of agencies and support available for families in Kent
- Ability to manage time and work to deadlines
