Wastewater Systems Planner

**What you’ll be doing**
We are looking for a System Planner to join our Thames Valley and Home Counties Waste Planning Team.
This role involves planning the future for **wastewater systems (network and process) in the Thames Valley. **The system planning team identify risk, carry our systems reviews, scope up investigations and integrates those outputs into a System Plan that feeds current and future expenditure. We are focussed on ensuring that our system can perform as it needs to, considering population growth, climate change and asset deterioration. We also look to improve the performance of our systems by reducing flooding and pollution as well as improving the rivers that we discharge into.
**The role responsibilities include**:
- Stakeholder liaison and providing updates on customer issues
- Develop regional level system plans which will incorporate what is required to be invested across this area of the business
- You will be reviewing our current systems with key stakeholders within the business, identifying improvements, creating business cases for these, and presenting them to the business
- Aligned with our strategic plans, you will create medium to long-term asset interventions that can be promoted through our investment process. The plans will need to be developed in conjunction with colleagues across Thames Water and external stakeholders
- These plans will focus on the issues and themes that each Thames Valley & Home Counties wastewater system faces and will need to consider how we can improve the environment and community well-being in the areas in which we operate
- The work you will deliver will ensure excellent service to customers, making our wastewater system resilient for the future.
**We’re looking for you to**:
- Have good organisational and coordination skills who enjoys managing multiple tasks at one time
- Ideally you will have some experience and knowledge of water or wastewater networks and treatment or the UK water industry
- You may have experience in a utilities industry and an understanding and techniques of working in a regulated environment
- Good influencing and negotiation skills are desirable
- Professional membership in an engineering, environmental, or asset management organisation is an advantage
- Great communicator who can simply share complex information
- Be competent with MS Office and Microsoft 365 and possibly Power BI and GIS, or keen to learn about using these programmes
