Responsibilities:
- To provide a high standard of personal care for individuals, including assistance with washing, dressing, undressing, accessing the toilet, promoting continence, maintaining oral hygiene, nail care and hair care as required and instructed by the persons care plan.
- To assist individuals with mobility needs and moving and handling in line with their assessed needs and care plan.
- To prepare food and drink for individuals as required, considering the individual choice, likes/dislikes, any special considerations regarding swallowing and risks associated with choking and specialist advice along with nutritional needs and cultural requirements.
- To promote the independence of individuals by including them in decisions about their care and everyday living and encouraging them to do things for themselves to enhance their wellbeing and sense of purpose.
- To always maintain good and respectful communication with individuals and their relatives/significant others.
- To ensure the safeguarding of individuals, reporting any concerns immediately to the healthcare team.
- To take responsibility for the safe handling of property and equipment belonging to individual residents.
- To assist individuals in the performance of practical tasks, including shopping and community activities.
- Recording and reporting, to maintain detailed and accurate records in respect of care delivered and tasks undertaken.
- Must be passionate about helping people.
- Ability to work together as part of a team, engage and commit to achieving great outcomes for our individuals.
