Work together with the other staff to meet the individual needs of every pupil. Together, and through detailed analysisof their presentation, they believe they can unlock each child’s potential and support achievement for all.
Speech and Language Therapists play a vital role in lifelong learning and providing specialist services by supporting service users and their families with specialist interventions such as AAC, (Pictures, gestures and pointing) Intensive Interaction, SensoryProgrammes.

Key Duties:

- To undertake assessment of young people with a wide range of additional communication needs.
- To then be able to develop, analyse and interpret assessments to recommend and deliver the best course of intervention for each child.
- To set individualised speech and language therapy treatment plans, using clinical skills and utilising a wide range of treatment options to formulate a specialised programme of care.
- Provide training, support and advice to members of the multidisciplinary teams.
- Delivery of both direct and indirect speech and language therapy interventions.

Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and help out wherever is required.

Skills and Qualifications:

- You will need be a registered member of RCSLT and HCPC.
- To hold a professional Speech and Language Therapy degree.
- You will need previous experience in supporting students with social communication difficulties using a Social Thinking framework (or similar)
- Continued professional development.
- Previous experience in working with young people with autistic spectrum conditions including Asperger’s syndrome, social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders and mental health needs.
- An established range of approaches to implement support for young people with social communication difficulties.
