This newly created post is part of an exciting two year project to improve health outcomes throughout Cheshire & Merseyside in conjunction with the regions Bowel Cancer Screening programmes.

This post will support a health promotion programme designed to improve uptake of the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (NHS BCSP) across Cheshire & Merseyside, particularly amongst groups with low uptake and high positivity.

The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical staff, public health professionals and primary care staff. They will support community engagement activities and support the development of the GP “Call for a Kit Clinic” (CFAKC) project across Cheshire and Merseyside:

The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical staff, public health professionals and primary care staff. They will support community engagement activities and support the development of the GP “Call for a Kit Clinic” (CFAKC) project across Cheshire and Merseyside:

- Co-ordinating engagement with local GP practices to facilitate CFAKC project in GP practices.
- Providing support to the BCSP Health promotion Specialist to plan, organise, deliver and evaluate the CFAKC
- Provide support to input/export data and to support evaluation of the CFAKC project
- Working with public/health sector partners to plan and engage the voluntary, community and faith sector in promoting the uptake of the BCSP
- Providing support to local communities to encourage grassroots participation in the BCSP
- Knowledge and understanding of specific geographical area of work

Supporting initiatives in reducing health inequalities and barriers to screening, health promotion and raise awareness of the importance of bowel cancer screening.

The post holder will need skills in needs assessment and equity analysis to be able to identify areas and groups where uptake is low.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.
