This is an exciting opportunity to join our Palliative Care Therapy Service as a Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner. You will work as part of the Specialist Palliative Care Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Dietetics Team delivering therapeutic interventions to patients in the hospital setting and their own home.

If you are enthusiastic, self-motivated and keen to work autonomously, whilst being part of a wider multi-disciplinary team then this could be the role for you You will be based within the Palliative Care unity in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and supported by the Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Dietitian to develop your knowledge and skills in Palliative Care.

Th ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

They will work as part of the Therapy team to undertake specific clinical and administrative tasks, implement intervention programmes as instructed and delegated by the OT/PT/DT, responding flexibly to the needs of the service

To work as part of the Therapy team to undertake specific clinical and
administrative tasks, implement intervention programmes as instructed
and delegated by the OT/PT/DT, responding flexibly to the needs of the
service.
Support the PT/OT and DT staff by assisting with all modalities of
therapeutic care for palliative patients.
To provide care to the patients, as delegated by the PT’s/ OT’s and DT, to
the extent of competencies.
Participate in project work, audits and provision of relevant statistics
which may be for the benefit of patients or the PT/OT and DT
department.
Monitor stocks of equipment and ensure appropriate supplies are ordered
from companies.
To promote independence, health and well-being and safety in hospital,
home or community settings.
Develop a patient centred approach to engaging patients in routine
therapeutic occupations following the aims/methods given by the
Therapist and to adjust own clinical interventions based on the fluctuating
needs of the person.
