**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Financial Wellbeing Coach**

**Hours**:
Full time post - 37.5 hours

**Salary**:
Starting salary up to £26,010 (Dependant on qualifications and/or experience)

**Holidays**:
25 days per year rising incrementally to 30 days (plus 8 public holidays)

**Based at**:
Interventions will be delivered in North Wales. **Please note, regular travel will be required.** A milage allowance will be paid to cover business travel costs incurred.

**About this Job**:
**Adferiad in partnership with St Giles Wise deliver a finance, debt and welfare benefit service for people on probation. Funded by the Ministry of Justice, this exciting service aims to provide exclusive financial wellbeing support to individuals who have been referred to the service by the Probation Service.**

**Vetting process will be in accordance with HM Probation and Prison Service Enhanced Level 1 check.**

**As a Financial Wellbeing Coach, you will: -**
- Provide holistic money advice to people referred by the Probation Service who are experiencing financial difficulties.
- Use your existing knowledge and expertise to identify and address a range of issues and provide debt, financial capability and welfare benefit advice and support services to people on probation.
- Take on case work within our remit on both welfare benefit, debt and financial wellbeing issues.
- Develop your knowledge and experience of individuals on probation to set your advice in a meaningful context.
- Help clients identify the barriers that are hindering progress in dealing with their financial difficulties.

Provide help, support and advice to overcome these barriers.

**So as a Financial Wellbeing Coach, what do you need to make this happen?**
- Work as part of a team to ensure smooth delivery of the service and excellent client care
- Ensure systems are used in a way that enables the management to monitor and evaluate the project
- Use your expertise in money advice and understanding of people on probation to ensure high quality service provision
- Continue to develop your knowledge of financial wellbeing, welfare benefits and money advice to meet the needs of the service
- Take on feedback from a variety of stakeholders and contribute to innovative changes and adaptations to service delivery

**Main Duties and Responsibilities (this is not an exhaustive list)**:
To lead the way to a better quality of life for people on probation through:
**Advice Work**
- Identifying and dealing appropriately with emergency financial situations,
- Completing the debt advice process with clients by providing advice on a range of debt solutions and strategies and where appropriate provide help and support to enable the client to implement suitable strategies and debt solutions
- Where appropriate make referrals to other agencies who can provide more specialist assistance
- Identifying accompanying issues which may be relevant to the client’s situation. In particular related to the client’s financial health but also other relevant factors e.g. housing, mental health, physical health or disability, carers, family matters. Provide advice and support on these matters within remit and identify suitable referral agencies who may be able to support the client.
- Using effective and appropriate agreed referral and signposting mechanisms.
- Ensure all records are kept up to date, accessible to other staff and that all local case work systems are maintained effectively
- Work with funder requirements and industry standards to ensure the achievement of desired outcomes
- Taking on case work, when within remit, following agreed local procedures, Data Protection requirements and agreed case work protocols
- Commenting on and inputting into the quality and publication of financial wellbeing related resources written and updated by the team and published online

**Personal development**
- Attend internal and external training as relevant to the role and ensuring we comply with Quality Frameworks and maintaining your own Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Be pro-active in keeping your own knowledge of people on probation, money advice and welfare benefit issues up to date through participation in training, reading information updates and journals and participating in seminars and forums.
