**Job Title: Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant**

**Location: Lewes**

**Salary: Minimum £76 per day (Increasing in April)**

**Contract: Monday - Friday 8.30-3.30 - Temp to perm (Term Time Only)**

**About Us**:Our schools are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for our secondary school students with SEND. We believe in fostering a love for learning and supporting each child's individual needs to help them reach their full potential. As we continue to prioritise the well-being and academic growth of our students, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide tailored support to secondary school students with SEND, both individually and in small groups, to ensure they can access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
- Collaborate closely with secondary school teachers to implement differentiated instruction and adapt teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of students with SEND.
- Support students in developing key literacy, numeracy, and social skills, fostering their confidence and independence in the classroom.
- Work alongside the SENCO and other staff members to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies for students with SEND.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their emotional well-being, self-esteem, and sense of belonging within the school community.
- Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers and participating in the evaluation and review of support interventions.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, proactively managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive behaviour management strategies.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Previous experience working with secondary school students with SEND, preferably in an educational setting. (desirable)
- A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of young children with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a compassionate and nurturing approach to supporting secondary school students with SEND.
- Knowledge of SEND-related issues and strategies for supporting secondary school students with a range of needs (e.g., autism, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties). (desirable)
- Provide details for us to complete reference checks prior to employment. _
- Provide an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one (which Pink Tile can assist with). _
