**WHAT TO EXPECT**
As a Metrology Process Leader, you will be a significant addition to the Quality Operations, providing Plant Quality Operations interface, technical support & activity delivery to various Manufacturing Programme Management (MPM) & Propulsion Manufacturing Engineering teams.
You will need to work collaboratively with a number of different functions, including Plant Quality, Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME), Product Design, MPM and the Operational Manufacturing areas in the performance of activities and resolution of concerns on new projects and the tracking through to completion.
This role will be reporting to the Senior Process Leader for Plant Quality Operations and will lead a 'core' team of Technicians. You will also be integrating within the existing Plant Quality Operations Leadership and shift-based technicians co-ordinating cross functional teams to ensure measurement activities satisfy current and future operational standards.
The main driver is to eliminate risk to product and customer through product measurement, especially of internally manufactured products and components. Overseeing and assisting with the improvement and development of measurement programmes, processes and procedures in order to assist future projects.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Routine dimensional assessments for current products (RISIR)
- Dimensional assessments at launch for new programmes (ISIR)
- Development of procedures & processes assisting Metrology and Test requirements
- Supervise writing/improving CMM programs for calibration/verification
- Develop and refine departmental new process standards, Work Instructions and procedures in line with the business quality system
- Manage new program integrity for both Audit, and the Production Measuring Room
- Assisting and approve Measuring Systems Analysis (MSA) on new and existing equipment
**WHAT YOU-LL NEED**
**Essential**:
- Experience working in a high precision production environment
- MS Office skills - experienced using Excel, Word and PowerPoint There will be the occasional requirement for UK and international travel to other JLR sites, and gauging and equipment suppliers for short durations as demanded by the role
**Desirable**:
- Powertrain Experience
- SPC Experience
- Working knowledge of precision machining processes
Understanding or familiarity with automotive systems, practices and procedures (ISO/IATF 16949, ISO 17025, etc)
