The Workforce Transformation and Systems Team are looking for a individual with experience in Workforce Systems committed to providing the best possible experience for end-users. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Workforce & Education teams to maintain a learning solution that provides the best experience for staff whilst being committed to enabling information flows across the wider NHS.

The post holder will also be responsible for wider integration of Workforce systems within the Trust working with but not limited to digital services and eRostering colleagues. Whilst responsible for implementing new Workforce Systems integration and process, the post holder will also foster a culture of continuous improvement by taking reviews and feedback from users of existing processes.

The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country. We provide radiotherapy through one of the largest radiotherapy departments in the world; chemotherapy on site and through 14 other hospitals; highly specialist surgery for complex and rare cancer; and a wide range of support and diagnostic services. We are also an international leader in research, with world first breakthroughs for over 100 years. We run one of the largest early clinical trial units in Europe with over 300 trials every year. Cancer research in Manchester, most of which is undertaken on the Christie site, has been officially ranked the best in the UK.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivery of effective customer service
- Responsible for providing complex advice to managers and stakeholders on all aspects of HR systems integration and processes, which is high calibre, consistent, supportive and underpinned by sound knowledge
- To be the point of escalation for HR systems integration and processes queries, providing effective advice and support in a timely and pro-active manner to managers and providing solutions to complex queries
- Responsible for contributing to the creation, maintenance and delivery of a range of end-user training tools and processes to cover both existing and new HR systems
- Required to work collaboratively with the Workforce team, developing and creating best practice between all workforce systems and supporting the delivery of high-quality advice to managers and staff
- Responsible for complying with the trust’s policies, workforce processes and national standards and guidelines and escalating any issues or concerns immediately
- Responsible for ensuring all systems work is completed in a timely manner in line with deadlines

Service improvement
- Responsible for identifying improvements to processes and use of workforce systems and supporting the implementation of changes
- Collaborate with the Education team, in particular the Mandatory Training Manager, ensuring all training requirements are set up in the most effective way adhering to any changes in national policy and guidelines
- Collaborate with the Education team to provide a high-quality end user experience for user of the Trust’s learning management solutions, ensuring information is consistent across both systems allowing the Inter Authority Transfer process within the Electronic Staff Record, to remove unnecessary duplication of training
- The post holder will periodically engage with stakeholders and end users to ensure relevant feedback is received and used to identify areas for development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team
- Work with the Workforce Transformation and Systems team to ensure suitable data quality checks are being undertaken to assist with effective systems integration and identify areas of concern and for improvement
- To develop local protocols, detailing the key processes in maintaining workforce systems including work structures, hierarchical structures and position-based access control that exist within various workforce systems
