**Children’s Senior Support worker**

Atrium are recruiting on behalf of a client for Senior Support Workers to provide support to Children with Emotional Behaviour disorders, Autism/ Learning difficulties. Each service has its own specialism, and has a dynamic and forward thinking approach to the child or young person’s issues such as:

- Sexual exploitation
- Sexually harmful behaviour
- Substance abuse
- Offending behaviours
- Eating Disorders
- Emotional, behavioural difficulties

**Responsibilities include**:

- Your most significant contribution is that of a professional parent, nurturing and caring for the young people looked after by the organization.
- You will take a child-centred approach in providing high quality care that will enable each young person to grow and develop healthily.
- You will implement and maintain clear and consistent boundaries necessary for the creation of a safe and secure environment necessary for each young person to flourish.
- As the provision of high quality childcare requires team work, you will need to be an active and willing participant in all team activities (i.e. weekly team meeting, training, etc).
- You will need to be flexible in your approach to work, as on occasions you may be required to cover a shift due to absences allowing the children and young people to receive consistent care from recognised carers. To care for young people means that you will be required to sleep-in as part of a shift. You will also need to be flexible to work in any of our homes in the region.
- You will be expected to embrace our values, undergo training and implement your training when at work..

**Support of Staff**:

- Ensure the day-to-day management is facilitated in a professional and competent manner. To promote professionalism and standards to the team in line with policy and procedures.
- Participate in regular staff meetings which are informative, produce action and are minuted.
- Provide support to the Service Manager and cover in the Deputy manager’s absence and annual leave.
- To work in accordance with Keys Group policies and procedures.
- To report to a manager/regional or other appropriate person, malpractice, suspicions or evidence which may suggest it.

**Salary**:
£24000-25000.

Additional for Sleep ins.

**Qualifications/ Experience**:

- Essential - QCF level 3 award in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or Caring for Children and Young People
- Desirable
- Be committed to completing an NVQ level 4 award (Management or Care)
- Working within residential childcare Therapeutic work Child protection Work individually and within a team
- Supervision of staff
- Knowledge of; National Minimum Standards; Children’s Homes Regs. 2015; The Children’s Act 1989 & 2004; Children’s Rights Effective communication skills: recording, report writing and verbal communication Time Management Ability to assess risks A professional and caring value base i.e. consistency and empathy
- Drivers License is essential

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
