Young Person's Support Workers Needed
Our client operates Children’s homes across England and South Wales and is regarded as one of the largest providers of innovative care. The idea behind the support is to give each child a fair opportunity - so when service users go on to leave the home they have equal opportunities to go on to further education, work, be involved in the community, e.t.c
They are looking for Children’s Residential Support Workers to join their services across the south Lincolnshire area
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, some of your responsibilities will include:
- To assist children and teenagers in all of their regular pursuits and interests.
- To encourage the well-being and independence of adolescents with EBD and challenging behaviours.
- To participate in weekend and evening events in order to support children's and young peoples interests. This might be anything from weekend trips to baking cakes to rock climbing
- To protect the children and young people from any risks to their health and welfare.
- To provide emotional and practical support to the young people within your home.
The skills and qualifications required within the role of a Children’s Residential
Support Worker include:
- Must be above the age of 21
- Have a valid UK driving licence and vehicle
- Any type of experience working with children or mental health
This role will be in one location in Holbeach with working hours only being 2 or 3 days a week. The hours worked would be starting at 8am and finishing at 11pm with the young people being in school during the day. See below the working days pattern - it runs on a 3-week rotating pattern:
Week 1 - Monday and Thursday
Week 2 - Tuesday and Friday and Sunday
Week 3 - Wednesday and Saturday
Sleep ins are involved in this role with an average of 5/6 over a month
Pay Rates are listed below:
- £11.50 starting (Rises upon completion of qualification which is fully funded)
- Sleeps paid at £62.64 and compensated if woken up
- Can go above and beyond £28,000

This will be through the various training packages that you will be assisted in completing when you are preparing to start your new job and the promise of completing the qualification of an NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential. With this qualification, it will look brilliant on your CV if you ever wanted to work with children or in a residential setting again as you will gain relevant experience in the role. But also - as a result of completing the qualification - you will qualify as a senior which will see a pay increase also
