Associate Director of Corporate Governance - Band 8d

The Associate Director of Corporate Governance is a critically important role within Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) - working closely with the Chair, Chief Executive Office and the Board of Directors. We are looking for an individual with the highest levels of integrity and the ability to guide senior leaders effectively on complex matters. We need someone who can work at pace in an ambitious organisation, providing leadership to our governance team and confidently working with multiple stakeholders including our Council of Governors. We are keen to ensure that governance is an enabler of effective and ambitious collaborative working - and are looking for an individual who shares our vision.

We are incredibly proud that CWP is rated Outstanding for Caring overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Good in all other domains - Safe, Effective, Responsive and Well-led. We are also recognised as an overall top performer through the CQC Community Mental Health Survey and our NHS Staff Survey results show that our people continue to be both proud to work here and of the standard of care we provide.

Building on all of this, we continue to innovate, improve, transform and ultimately aim to deliver the very highest standards of care for the people and communities that we serve. This is an exciting time to be joining our organisation.

CWP provides health and care services for local people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care - including the provision of three GP surgeries. We employ more than 4,500 staff across 62 sites in Wirral and Cheshire, as well as Trafford, Warrington, Bolton, Halton and Liverpool, serving a population of over 1 million people. We also provide highly specialist services for 2 million across the North West as a whole.

Please download a copy of the job description for full details.

Recruitment selection processes are based on competence (see Person specification) and values.

CWP recruits people that can demonstrate the Trust’s Values and Behaviours in their everyday life. Therefore, if you are invited to interview, you will be undertaking a Values Based Interview/Assessment, which explores not only what you do but how and why you do it.

Before applying, we encourage you to review the Trust’s Values and Behaviours which are ‘the 6 Cs’ Communication, Competence, Courage, Care, Compassion and Commitment.

CWP is proud to be an accredited Veteran Aware organisation helping to provide and share best practice in NHS care for our armed forces community.
