We are currently recruiting for a Buyers Administrator to work in our H Samuel Diamond Buying teamto provide efficient administrative support to the buying team to help maximise sales & profitability.

As a Buyer's Administrator at Signet no two days are the same you'll be supporting your team by setting up and monitoring the Critical Path for each product item in the range, right through from product development stages to delivery into the warehouse.You'll also gather information about the market, looking at competitors and customers to feed into the buying decisions. You'll learn about the buying process and how to build a balanced and commercial range.
A genuine interest in Buying is needed along with sound commercial awareness, initiative and self-motivation along with enthusiasm for our products and a love of Jewellery

Responsibilities of the role will include:

- Ensure all administration for the team is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop a good understanding of supply base, building and maintaining professional working relationships with suppliers.
- Responsible for all sample management
- Co-ordinate quality control procedure for all new products.
- Ensure the movement of product samples is accurately and securely coordinated both within the department and to other departments.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure samples and new lines are delivered to meet required deadlines.
- Co-ordinate and assist with all launch information for internal purposes and distribution to stores.
- Ensure accuracy and maintenance of all departmental data and files, including gold fix, price bandings and specification sheets where appropriate.
- Define and set up new lines and raise initial line orders for any launch.
- Participate in competitor activity monitoring at weekly, annual and seasonal levels
- Assist with preparation for supplier meetings.
- Prepare product samples for meetings and presentations ensuring each item is correctly ticketed where applicable and presented to the required standards.
- Deal with store requests and queries in an effective and timely manner.
- Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with the department critical path.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Competition Act and Bribery Act and undertake all responsibilities in accordance with related departmental procedures.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of Social, Ethical & Environmental Committee and RJC recommendations.

About You

Suitable applicants will have experience of the following:
Strong organisational skills with proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

Good numerical and analytical skills

Strong eye for detail

Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels

Good team player

Flexible approach to work

Able to demonstrate a basic awareness of retailing, particularly buying

Degree level education desirable

Retail experience desirable
