The Role
Hays are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Automotive Interior Planner to join our client on an ongoing long term temporary assignment for an approximate duration of 12 months (rolling, reviewed annually).
You will be a part of the production processes for Interior Trim Parts from concept to series production. Consideration of the design and engineering requirements, delivering the optimum performance in terms of quality, cost, legal requirements and volume whilstsafeguarding the health and safety of the employees with fully owned Product and Process responsibility.
Reporting to the Project Planning & Integration Manager, you will have daily responsibility for:

- A specific product family and plan the integration of new product into the existing one line production system: from raw material in, through cutting and sewing and onward to final assembly.
- Delivery of manufacture feasibility with focus to reduce costs, zero defect, throughput time, machine capacities and high-quality demand to achieve the business case calculations.
- Plan and implement the manufacturing processes focused on cost, quality & delivery to ensure detailed understanding of how a part will be manufactured, jigs and tooling defined.
- Keep all necessary paperwork and legal requirements up-to-dated.
- Manage and mature key process documents during the project phases including APQP, P-FMEAs, Flow charts, Work Instructions, BOMs and Problem Resolution.
- Detail equipment specifications, raise purchase orders, manage the suppliers, co-ordinate installation and commissioning of new machines and tooling, co-ordinate pre-series builds as per the Process Plan to bring new features/new models into series productionand ensure H&S regulations are followed.
- Manage continuous improvement of the manufacturing process to deliver Quality targets and maximize opportunities to reduce costs and support problem solving in all Production areas.
Skills and Qualifications:

- 3 years experience with the following skills
- Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering within a Manufacturing industry.
- Material/ Fabric/ Leather: trim cutting, sewing and covering, and assembly processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering CAD data and tolerances/ BOM management/ APQP/ Process Planning
- Excellent organisational, presentation and problem solving skills
- Good Project Management skills, able to prioritize activities, set milestone reviews and present regular Management summaries
- Good IT skills. SAP/ Office 365 etc
- Fluent English is essential and basic German is desirable
