**About the role**

An Ofsted rating ‘Outstanding’ primary school is seeking a 1:1 teaching assistant to join their small team and support a year 6 student with high needs.

Ofsted describes pupils progress at this school as ‘Outstanding’ and says that teachers are able to ‘meet the children’s needs on an individual level’. Teaching assistants are described as ‘committed’ and demonstrate that they ‘play a significant role’ in the progress of children with special educational needs. In this role, you would be supporting a child with ADHD, ASD and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis. Day-to-day duties will include;
- Developing 1:1 sessions to support academic development
- Supporting the child academically during large group class time
- Assisting the class teacher with behaviour management within the classroom
- Providing regular emotional and social support and managing challenging behaviour

This role will begin immediately and end at the end of the academic year.
