**What you'll be doing**

We are looking for a Deputy Picture Editor to work on Country Life and support the Picture Editor on a 6 month fixed term contract. You will have experience working on a Picture Desk with knowledge of copyright and intellectual property.
- Researches and identifies pictures or illustrations for use in print that fully meet the brief and budget of the title within the portfolio
- Ensures we have the appropriate permissions and rights to use the images in the way we plan to use them
- Must have experience in commissioning photographers and illustrators
- Ensures the most cost-effective approach, including maximising re-use of the content we have already, and/or leveraging subscriptions we hold
- Curates picture assets, ensuring that all pictures are fully and properly tagged for easy discoverability for future use in both print and online
- To be able to step up for the relevant Picture Editor and manager workflows

**Experience that will put you ahead of the curve**
- Experience with using Mac OS and have experience of using Photoshop and Bridge
- Proven ability to interpret a brief to provide the best image content for the Brand
- A flexible, can-do attitude
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A working knowledge of the legal framework and constraints regarding copyright and intellectual property
- Ability to work at pace with appropriate sector knowledge
