An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administration Assistant to join the national centre responsible for the surveillance of hepatitis, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in England within the National Infection Service, based in Colindale.

The post-holder will work as part of a data management team in the Blood Safety, Hepatitis, STI and HIV Division and carry out administrative and data management duties associated with the collection and dissemination of data on HIV and STIs. The post-holder will be required to ensure the timely collection of data from external data providers, ensure data compliance, assist with the timely production of reports, answer internal and external requests for information, and support the smooth running of surveillance systems. They will support the database manager in all administrative aspects of the surveillance system and provide support to the department as required.

The successful applicant will need to possess excellent written English and numeracy skills with a high attention to detail, as well as having an aptitude for working with data. They will also need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work independently and set their own objectives, as well as work within a multi-disciplinary team and achieve team objectives. Experience of working within health services would be an advantage.
- Assist the database manager with the daily maintenance of HIV/STI
- surveillance systems.
- Monitor data submissions to ensure data archive is complete.
- Monitor data quality to ensure coding compliance.
- Ensure all data errors are actioned in a timely manner.

- To continually maintain up-to-date contact details of all data reporters.
- Assist in the production of regular reports for the UKHSA, Department of Health and Social Care, Local Authorities and academic institutions, as required.
- Organise meetings, prepare and distribute agendas and supporting documentation, and take minutes

UKHSA offers hybrid working for its employees

Whilst the role will be based in one of our UKHSA offices, there will be opportunities for an element of working from home. The balance between home and workplace working is to be agreed with the line manager, determined primarily by business need and in line with departmental policy.

Some business travel may be required to other UKHSA offices. Business travel between base location and any other UKHSA offices will be covered under the UKHSA Travel and Expenses policy.
