Environmental Enforcement Officer

District Enforcement Limited are a leading supplier in Car Parking, Environmental Crime and Moorings Enforcement. We currently have 400 contracts across the UK and due to our continued growth within the Environmental Crime Industry working on behalf of local authorities. We are now recruiting for the position of Environmental Crime Officer to work on our Pendle Borough Council contract.
**Main Purpose of the Role**
As a Environmental Crime Officer, you will be expected to lead from the front, patrolling the boroughs of Pendle BoroughCouncil in an intelligence led manner, engaging and educating members of the community and when necessary enforcing legislation by the way of issuing an “on the spot” Fixed Penalty Notice under Environmental Crime Legislation.
**As a Environmental Crime Officer you will be**:
- Brand Ambassadors for the local authority and District Enforcement Limited.
- Patrolling the borough in accordance to an agreed deployment strategy.
- Investigating complaints made by elected members and members of the public.
- Engaging and educate members of the public with regard to Environmental Crime.
- Interacting directly with offenders and issue Fixed Penalty Notices for authorised offences in accordance to legislation, ensuring that the evidential and public interest tests have been met.
- Compiling a full notebook entry and witness statement for every issued Fixed Penalty Notice.
- Obtaining and validate the personal particulars of an offender by contacting the Operational Support Team.
- Attending Court and give evidence as required.
- Previous experience in a front-line enforcement role and handling difficult situations in a professional manner.
- The ability to communicate with offenders, often in demanding circumstances in a calm and assertive manner.
- The ability to deal with members of the public from all cultures and backgrounds in a diplomatic and professional manner.
- The ability to be resilient, as some interactions with offenders can become confrontational.
- The ability to defuse hostile situations in a professional manner.
- Must enjoy working in the outdoors and in all weather conditions
- The ability to work under pressure, independently or as part of a team and on own initiative to carry out the enforcement role.
- Excellent communication skills are required both written and spoken
- Will be physically fit as you may be required to carry our foot patrol for prolonged periods.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: From £20,800.00 per year

- 8 hour shift

- Statement Taking: 1 year (preferred)
- Investigations: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
