**Role**

We are looking for a an Assessors/Inspectors to assess against a range of schemes such as PAS 2030 and MCS and ensure all aspects of Health and Safety compliance.

Assessors/Inspectors should be qualified in their chosen field or willing to upskill themselves to ensure they are competent to carry out this role effectively.

**Responsibilities**

Main Responsibilities
- Verify Retrofit Designs prior to attending an On-Site Technical Inspection
- To carry out external Technical Inspections onsite in line with various standards
- Write up detailed technical reports that are easy to understand
- Identify any areas of non-conformities and provide details in technical inspection reports
- Confirm that completed non-conformances meet the audit criteria
- Answer client enquiries regarding any inspection reports
- To offer guidance to multiple businesses across the eco industry within UKAS guidelines
- Ensure all site work complies with Health and Safety regulations.

**Qualifications**

It would be desirable for an Inspector to hold the following qualifications:

- GDA or DEA or Equivalent Course (Retrofit Assessor)
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- Relevant NVQ/Qualifications for each applicable measure/technology
- A Health and Safety Qualification (e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH)
- Health and Safety Certificates Relevant to Each Measure (Manual Handling, Confined Spaces, Fire Awareness, Working at Heights, Gas Safe, Asbestos Awareness)
- A1 Assessor

The list of possible competencies is so vast that only a selection of competencies are noted below to provide you with an idea of what a competent installer may require.
- A recognised electrical qualification that satisfies the requirements of Electrotechnical Assessment Specification, Appendix 4 published by the I ET
- Registration with a Scheme Operator authorised under the relevant Building Regulations
- Where relevant to the scope of work being undertaken, the Electrician/s must show awareness in asbestos and other related health and safety issues such as manual handling, working at heights and fire safety
- A recognised heating qualification such as a Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ or SVQ in plumbing or heating & ventilation or gas or oil or equivalent certification, Gas Safe (CCN1) The student must be capable of installing a wet central heating circuit
- Registration with a Scheme Operator authorised under the relevant Building Regulations
- An industry recognised unvented cylinder/hot water systems and safety course or qualification (G3)
- Water regulations training recognised by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS)
- An industry recognised short course or qualification in the particular MCS technology e.g. Biomass, Heat Pumps or Solar Thermal
- BPEC Part L Energy Efficiency
- Competencies such as cable or component sizing are normally addressed as part of installer and PV short courses or qualifications
- BPEC Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pump Systems (Non-refrigerant Circuits)
- BPEC Heat pump system (NOS Mapped)
- BPEC Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems
- BPEC Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems.
- NVQ in Insulation and Building Treatments

**Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies**

It would be desirable for the Inspector hold the following experience, knowledge, skills and competencies:

- Two years’ experience within Eco Industry
- Two years’ experience inspecting, assessing or technical monitoring (ideally to MCS and PAS 2030 standards)
- Relevant experience of design and installation related technologies/measures
- Experience of carrying out full domestic properties’ assessments
- Experience in developing and verifying risk assessments and method statements
- Experience in writing and understanding installation documentation
- Ability to develop working relationships with wide range of people
- Able to demonstrate attention to detail
- Use of initiative to deal with enquiries and or problems
- Ability to follow procedures and relevant audit trails
- Courteous, positive disposition
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to manage a varied and complex workload
- Flexible approach to working environment and a supportive team member

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £36,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
