Waymap has developed the world's only navigation app that guides you both indoors and outdoors. Using breakthrough technology, our app is so accurate that it can even navigate blind persons.

Waymap is a high-tech navigation business. We are using the world's most advanced location technology to provide outdoor and indoor navigation for all user groups. Our business is built on inclusivity, meaning that our technology has been built to be so accurate that we can even provide navigation for blind persons. We're passionate about delivering the cutting-edge in Smart City navigation, and the technology to make it happen.

We are looking for someone to lead both user experience and interface design at Waymap. To date this work has all been outsourced and we are looking to bring this key competence in-house. We have built an excellent suite of technology and now need to deliver this to the user in the best fashion possible.

**Responsibilities**
- Create wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups optimised for a variety of devices and interfaces, with a focus on native iOS and Android platforms.
- Identify design challenges and solve them with innovative solutions, making informed decisions that enhance the user experience.
- Adopt a user-centred design approach, incorporating rapid testing and iterations of your designs.
- Work collaboratively with the product development team to develop solutions that adhere to Universal Design principles and prioritise accessibility.
- Conduct and facilitate user feedback sessions and workshops to collect insights, employing this data to refine and improve design strategies.
- Actively participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, utilising Agile methodologies to ensure efficient project execution.
- Champion the principles of Universal Design and accessibility, ensuring the product interface meets or exceeds WCAG standards.
- Effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to team members and stakeholders, emphasising the importance of inclusivity in design.

**Qualifications**
- Proficiency in Figma for UX/UI design activities and Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design tasks.
- A deep understanding of mobile app design nuances, coupled with up-to-date knowledge of the latest design trends, technologies, and Universal Design principles.
- Strong experience in user-centered design practices, including conducting user research, feedback sessions, workshops, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability, and accessibility assessments.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, actionable design implications.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and improvement in the fields of UX/UI design, Universal Design, and accessibility.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in interaction design, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, or a related field is preferred.

**About Waymap**

We are a for-profit, social impact start-up. The idea for our business came out of the Royal Society for Blind Children in London.

The young blind children whom the charity served tasked the CEO (Dr Tom Pey, also Waymap Founder and CEO) with building a cell phone navigation app that was accurate enough to even help them get around.

Waymap, therefore, has built a suite of location algorithms which are much more accurate than GNSS (GPS) and even work indoor.

We want to connect cities like never before - outdoor, indoor and even deep underground.
