Job Title: HR Apprentice

Reporting to: L&D Manager and SEE Manager

Purpose of the job

The general purpose of the role is to be the administrative point of contact support both our Skills, Employment and Education (SEE) and Learning & Development (L&D) Managers in both their specialist areas as well as being part of the wider HR function.

**Responsibilities**:
The role of the SEE/L&D Apprentice will include:
**SEE aspects**
- Manage Universities Job Boards promoting Industrial Training Placements (IPTs) and Summer Placements.
- Liaise with referral partners and external organisations in the promotion of Apprenticeships and other Emerging Talent opportunities.
- Coordinate on-site work experience (from managing the work experience calendar to assisting the students during their week on site)
- Ensuring rooms are booked for events held on site.
- Attend Jobs Fairs, Career Fairs and other education/employment events as required.
- Assist with data collection for SEE report.
- Support with organising and minute taking for SEE/EDI Supply Chain Forum.
- Assist with site visits by liaising with our Comms and site teams.
- Suggest ideas for schools events and ways to engage young people into the industry.
- Help implementing our EDI agenda through Skills, Employment and Education initiatives

**L&D aspects**
- Source, benchmark and organise training events using the training plan.
- Ensure room bookings for any training events.
- Assist with collecting and collating training attendance data.
- Working with line managers and staff to confirm training needs and availability to attend training.
- Working with JV partner companies and the Heath & Safety training teams to ensure all records match.
- Updating the training plan with status updates.
- Assist with planning and organising training events.
- Assist with organising and minute taking for EDI Steering group and ensuring the agenda is created and circulated.
- Assist with planning and organising apprentice networking events and ensuring the agenda is created and circulated.
- Support the project to get itself EDI re-accredited.
- Help implementing our EDI agenda through publicising EDI events and communications plan
- Assist with planning, organising and recording EDI training events.
- Helping ensure development plans for high potential staff are recorded correctly and support in their delivery.

General duties
- Other HR projects across Align
- Working collaboratively with the HR function and other teams across project.

- Effective user of Microsoft Office suite of software
- Organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work to defined timescales
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely
- Proactive approach to problem solving and information gathering
- Good interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Looks for continuous improvement to meet ongoing requirements
- Commitment to attend work and study at the required times to complete the apprenticeship programme
- Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C 9-4 including Maths and English, or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)
- the apprenticeship can be either in L&D, Business administration or Corporate Social Responsibility.
