Eden’s Membership team has a community of more than 13,500 Members and Patrons supporting Eden and raising vital funds for the Charity; but we are ambitious and want to do much more
We now have a great new role available in the team to help support our ambitious plans for continued growth, and our efforts to raise unrestricted funds to support the delivery of Eden’s wide range of charitable projects.
This role would ideally suit someone with experience working in the charity sector, visitor attraction or a membership organisation. Ideally, you’ll have some knowledge and experience of copywriting, event management and customer service. This is a varied role, so a high level of organisation, ability to multi-task and attention to detail is essential. You’ll be a great influencer and comfortable in using your excellent written and verbal communication skills with people at all levels.

Job Family Definition
Roles within the Commercial Services job family are focused on increasing and generating income, through creativity, branding, innovative business development, and funded projects, to make Eden sustainable, successful and a leading, value-for-money visitor attraction.
Role Purpose
The job holder will lead on the content, marketing and communications of the Eden Project Membership scheme. It will involve working with colleagues across the wider Eden Team to help support the promotion of Membership, as well as building excellent relationships with Eden’s existing Members and future prospects. Key responsibilities will include excellent Member stewardship, copywriting and implementation of key communications to cultivate loyalty, managing digital, print and on-site campaigns, along with running a varied programme of Member events.
Key Accountabilities-
- Work with an external Media Agency and the Interim Membership Manager to deliver the marketing strategy, producing media briefs, copy and assets, as well as assigning targeting for ad hoc and seasonal paid social media campaigns.
- Curate and deliver a varied calendar of Member events, from large seasonal previews to smaller talks and tours. Test options for wider participation events that can be recorded, live streamed and accessed digitally (i.e. webinars). Help to promote events, and ensure their smooth delivery, which may include occasional working outside of normal office hours. Work with the Interim Membership Manager to ensure appropriate delivery of key Member benefits, including discounts, priority booking and free entry to local partner attractions.

Demands of the role
Education & qualifications Educated to a minimum of ‘A’ level or equivalent. A degree is desirable in a related field.
Knowledge & skills
Decision-making
Most decision making will be based on knowledge of the role and specific objectives. Reports to line manager on a regular basis however autonomy and initiative when working is expected so that the post holder can resolve complex enquiries or complaints before they need to be escalated. Works largely to short
- and medium-term objectives where professional judgment will be required. A high level of personal organisation and ability to prioritise a diverse workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail is essential, as well as the ability to work on own initiative to deliver agreed objectives.
Resourcefulness
Works within evolving processes and procedures with the need for adaptive thinking, innovation and creativity as new methods of Member acquisition and retention are tested. Reactive problem-solving will be a feature of the role with a need for creativity to adapt to changes in legislation and budget. This will require the post holder to stay ahead of the changes to the sector and make informed recommendations on how Eden may need to adapt its communications and strategy. The post holder will take a pro-active approach to their work, closely supported by the Interim Membership Manager to continuously develop methods and improve results.
People & asset management
Shared responsibility for the confidential and accurate processing of personal data and financial transactions so discretion is required. Support the Membership Administrator, Officer and volunteers, though no direct line management required.
Communication & visitor experience
The job holder will require highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal skills that can be deployed across a range of situations and platforms and are carefully tailored to the audience or situation.
