We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join the Finance Team. This is a new role within our finance structure, created to partner closely onsite with our Charter business unit, whilst also contributing to wider company finance tasks. Based at Doncaster, the Finance Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining the Company purchase ledger, processing invoices and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.

The role’s key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- To process all incoming purchase invoices and credit notes on our cloud platform. Timeliness and attention to detail are really important here
- Housekeeping our Purchase Ledger, including regular ad-hoc review of accounts to ensure the data is accurate (e.g., payment terms, currencies, statement checks)
- Following up and resolving unapproved purchase invoices
- Reviewing purchase invoices for large/unusual invoices and escalating these as required.
- Opening trade accounts
- Look to build a Preferred Suppliers List (PSL)
- To process both external and internal sales invoices in conjunction with current processes, and ensuring timely delivery
- To follow up these sales invoices for timely payment as required

The following skills, knowledge and experience are essential:

- A great communicator who can liaise with not just the finance team, but Heads of Departments / Stakeholders to continuously improve the information coming from finance
- Excellent attention to detail
- Taking pride in what you do, with an open mind to learning and development
- Experience of working in a finance or accounting setting
- Support the team with ideas and input into processes to maintain a positive level of change
