**Information About The Role**

An excellent opportunity has arisen to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terrorism Policing.

In this role you will promote good practice in protective security at the customer level, support the Head of CTP NE Counter Terrorism in Counter Terrorism matters in line with the Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act 2001, and respond to nationally tasked initiatives from HM Government through the National Counter Terrorism Security Office. You will deliver tactical and strategic advice to Local Authorities, promoting Protect and Prepare activities to keep people safe.

You will be required to have an in-depth knowledge of national and local issues impacting on the Police Services and particularly Counter Terrorism issues, as well as having previous experience of working within a Security, Counter Terrorist, Special Branch or Covert environment.

In addition, you will have proven ability to analyse and present complex information and to confidently influence and negotiate at a senior level

You must be prepared to work flexible hours to suit the CTP requirements and should have the ability and willingness to travel throughout the Region for business purposes. This role involves training across the UK and you must be willing to travel and stay overnight when required.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead by example and behave in line with the Police Code of Ethics ensuring that the force values and
behavioural expectations are clearly understood and considered by managers, officers and staff in their decision
making and actions; reinforcing and influencing them through all interactions and processes.
2. Fulfil the statutory obligations provided for in the Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act 2001, in respect of sites
holding pathogens & toxins, as per the Environmental Permitting (England & Wales) Regulations 2016 (Part 5)
for radiological sites.
Supporting the Chief Officer team(s) and Regional CT network in providing protective security advice relating to
those managing Publically Accessible Locations, Hazardous Sites and Sectors, the Critical National
Infrastructure (CNI) and Personal Security.
4. Devise and develop protective security advice to Sites of High Risk and Hazardous Sites, identified as being
vulnerable to terrorist attack, through implementation of the Systematic Assessment of Site Security (SASS) risk
assessment process and completion of technical vulnerabilitiy surveying, to influence sites and shareholders to
embed protect and prepare across their wider functions.
5. Develop and maintain relationships between forces, the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) and CNI
sectors to provide protective security advice and support forces develop their response and contingency plans to
minimise impact on the community, identifying and assessing critical sites that might be vulnerable to terrorist or
extremist attack.
6. To work with police forces across the region to support Chief Officer Teams managing the risk and response to
threats against Members of Parliament and other elected members, ensuring national personal security policies
are complied with and to support MP offices in line with current agreed measures including technical surveying
and protective security advice.
7. Deliver strategic and tactical protective security advice to Protect and Prepare Groups (PaPGs) within Local
Authority partnerships and the business sector, to influence Local Authorities and the business community, in
embedding and investing in protect and prepare activities in line with National recommendations, technical
specifications and current legislation. Provide advice and coordination to PaPGs, the business sector and other
professional bodies including emergency services, to ensure a coordinated approach and ensure CT protective
security advice is incorporated into policy and practice.
8. To deliver presentations and facilitation exercises, awareness inputs and formal training packages to both
internal and external audiences including Local Authorities and the business community (ACT / SCaN). Deliver
