Yard Operative

45 hours/week, Monday - Friday 08.00 - 17.30 (30 mins lunch) - 20 days holiday plus bank holidays

**The Role**:
You will be a key part of the vehicle preparation process, moving vehicles with care between processes and into and out of storage as required by the business operations.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- To drive any vehicles as instructed by your Line Manager for which you are licensed or given permission to drive during the organisation of vehicle movement on a multi operational site, working to operational targets
- Drive vehicles off site as required
- Debowse and refuel vehicles when required
- Wipe vehicles down where necessary
- Jumpstart vehicles as required
- To drive in a correct and proper manner in line with site rules and HSE requirements
- To help locate and move vehicles
- To assist in the manoeuvring of vehicles in order to provide a tidy and orderly appearance on the yard
- Monitoring activity and liaising with the Yard Supervisor of any hold ups in processes which may cause issues by having too many vehicles at one department
- Be able to work to operational deadlines in accordance with Company Service Level Agreements
- The ability to comply with all Health and Safety instructions and requirements and treat all vehicles with respect
- Ensure all vehicles are correctly presented with the appropriate paperwork and booked onto the VMS system. All loose items to be recorded and damages upon arrival
- Takes ownership in all aspects of their role, working without close supervision and demonstrating effective self-management
- Able to work as a team, and support and assist colleagues
- You may be required to undertake other duties to meet business requirements and setting, including working alongside other departments
- To ensure you conduct yourself in a calm, professional manner whilst liaising with clients, colleagues and visitors
- Be responsible for the control of keys ensuring that all keys are returned at the end of the day and locked within the key room
- Liaising with the office and bodyshop throughout the day with updates
- Comply with all Health and Safety instructions and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others who may be working or entering the work area and report all hazards to your line manager
- Computer literate - working on a tablet
- Good up-to-date knowledge of vehicles and vehicle technology
- Ability to manage a number of task concurrently

**Salary**: £25,740.00 per year
