**Hours**: 20 hours / week in the first instance. Can increase to 35 hours per week.

**Salary**:dependent on experience - £55,016 - £61,325

**Required qualifications and experience**
- Current HCPC Registration
- Minimum of one year experience working as a Clinical Psychologist
- ADOS Trained (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent report writing skills
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

**Job Summary**:
The post holder is expected to work both autonomously and as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide autism assessments within ADHD Direct.

ADHD Direct is a multi-disciplinary team providing high quality autism assessments for children and young people.

The Autism Assessment Team comprises Paediatricians, Psychologists, Speech and
Language Therapists, and Clinical Nurse Specialists.

The post holder will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served. They will be supported and supervised by the CEO and have a range of development and CPD opportunities. You will be part of a Multidisciplinary team working with adults, children and young people with good professional support and supervision, plus strong working relationships with other disciplines and agencies.

Key roles include the following:

- Conducting autism assessments for children, young people and adults

❖ All assessments are conducted with two clinicians❖ This will include second opinion autism assessments
- Working within an assessment protocol that includes standardised screening and standardised assessment instruments and that follows the NICE guidelines.
- The assessment includes consideration of comorbid and/or differential diagnostic issues and screening for co-morbid conditions to determine the need for onward referrals
- Clinicians also be required to provide support to families waiting for an assessment

Clinical i. In accordance with the Service requirements, as agreed, the post holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including
- face to face consultations
- Virtual Consultations
- Telephone consultations
- Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion ii. Conducting autism assessments for children, young people and adults
- All assessments are conducted with two clinicians
- This will include second opinion autism assessments iii. Working within an assessment protocol that includes standardised screening and standardised assessment instruments and that follows NICE guidelines. iv. The assessment includes consideration of comorbid and/or differential diagnostic issues and screening for co-morbid conditions to determine the need for onward referrals v. Provide Person Centred Care evidencing the ability to engage with people experiencing neurodevelopment conditions thus eliciting patients unedited history and making professionally autonomous decisions vi. Enable patients to fully engage in delineating their difficulties, thus building patient rapport and jointly deciding on appropriate interventions. vii. Assesses and discharges patients to and from the service caseload and refers them to other care providers internally or externally as appropriate viii. Makes professionally autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred internally within the service.

Record keeping, information collection and communication i. Effectively manage highly complex and sensitive situations and condition related information regarding diagnosis and prognosis to children and young people and their families, other professionals and external agencies, where there may be barriers to understanding ii. To be able to communicate reassuringly, finding ways of enabling the information to be understood and providing empathy and reassurance to all groups iii. To be responsible for the accurate maintenance of clinical record keeping and the required communication of individual patient assessments. iv. To ensure all systems (electronic and hard copy), records, data and information
(stored and transferred) are of high quality across the service which will withstand inspection of their effectiveness and appropriateness to support the delivery of safe services and compliance with clinical Governance standards v.
