**About the Service/Department**
The Haringey Mental Health Integrated Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Service supports residents aged 18 and over with moderate to severe mental illness in the borough of Haringey. The service will act as a key component in the Barnet, Enfield, and HaringeyMental Health NHS Trust (BEHMHT)’s new and emerging model for community mental health and wellbeing support. The new community models will deliver true integration of care and support across secondary mental health services, the Voluntary and Community Sector(VCS), primary care, social care, community assets as well as other physical health care provision. The Integrated VCS Service is typically provided on a 1:1 basis both in office, or in community hubs in the borough by appointment. It is also expected thatnew partnerships and community assets will be developed as part of this service to promote mental wellbeing and to address health inequalities in the borough.

**About the role
**To provide high quality support and role model the ability to have a meaningful life for an allocated group of service users (aged 18+) with moderate to severe mental illness within the community. To carry out duties in line with Hestia’s and BEHMHT’spolicies and procedures.

Some other main responsibilities of the role include:

- Record client clinical information on Hestia’s case management system and the BEH Trust’s electronic patient records system (RIO)
- Provide support to volunteers and social work students
- Promote Integrated Voluntary Sector & NHS roles through the provision of information and a range of learning opportunities for the multi-disciplinary team and others across the Trust and Voluntary Sector organisations

**About you**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Group facilitation skills
- Ability to assess clinical situations quickly and use initiative
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm in emergent situations and respond in a professional manner
- Knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 amended 2007
- (Desirable) Experience of managing high levels of interpersonal distress
- (Desirable) Experience of training, teaching, coaching/mentoring others
- (Desirable) Appreciation of the community resources within the geographical location of the post and key partners
- (Desirable) Lived experience of mental health problems and experience of using secondary care services and Psychiatric hospital admission
