Community Link Worker
You have experience of working within mental health services or transferable skills from a related environment, plus a real commitment to service user development. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Richmond Fellowship as a Community Link Worker.
We need someone like you to join the team at our Wakefield Mental Health & Wellbeing Support Service. Day-to-day, you’ll manage a caseload of clients and give them all the support they need to enable them to participate in community life. You’ll also work with individuals to develop an appropriate personal support plan that addresses their specific needs. Helping them to develop domestic, financial and emotional management and personal life skills to achieve greater independence and self-esteem will be important too. And, when it comes to liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies to give people access to a full range of services, again, we’ll rely on your expertise.
A great listener, with a flexible approach and a flair for planning and prioritising a busy workload, you love motivating and engaging people in a range of developmental and rehabilitative activities. What’s more, you have a good understanding of mental health issues and how they affect people. Experience of identifying and coordinating a range of services to meet an individual’s needs and to enable them to engage with community activities is also essential.
As well as having an understanding of mental illness, we’ll be looking for the ability to prioritise a busy workload and work well within a team. You ‘ll also need the communication skills it takes to and motivate and inspire others and liaise effectively with a wide range of organisations and individuals. Proficient using office IT and willing to work some weekends and evenings would also be an advantage. And, if you have experience of running Workshops session, even better, although this is not essential, as training will be provided.
The salary for this role is £19,304 pro rata per annum.
This is a Fixed Term Appointment until 30 January 2024.
This is a part-time post available at 30 hours per week.
