**Job Vacancy: Support Worker and Teaching Assistant**

An exciting opportunity to support a lovely, cheerful 10 year old boy who has Cerebral Palsy with associated complex care needs.

You will work as Teaching Assistant at School (31.5 hours per week) and Support Worker ( 8 hours evenings and weekends per week) at home. The hours stated in each role is the maximum expected and the proportion spent in each role will develop to the maximum once in post.

This is an extremely rewarding role where you will be involved in developing our client’s full potential. He attends a local Special School and you will support him in all aspects of his learning and participation in school life. A key part of your role is the development and facilitation of his communication skills as well as maintaining physical health and optimising his abilities. You will work closely with other members of the team and family in providing the highest standards of care and support, and will be fully supported and trained.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and flexible person who is positive, imaginative and can provide support with a fun approach.

Experience of working with children with physical disabilities, and working in a school environment is desirable but more important is your attitude and desire to work with a child with complex needs.

A full, clean UK driver’s licence is essential as you will be required to drive the client’s adapted vehicle. An enhanced DBS certificate is a requirement which will be provided by us. Criminal convictions may not necessarily prevent employment. The post operates a non-smoking environment at all times.

**Location**: Kirkham, Lancashire

**Pay**: £13 per hour weekday, £15 per hour weekend/Bank Holiday’s. £17 per hour for any overtime worked.

**Hours per week**: 39.5 including some evenings and some weekends
