Suba bakery in Walthamstow are looking for an experienced Head baker to join our team. As head baker, you will be instrumental in the day to day running of the business. It is essential that you are available mornings, evenings, and weekends due to the nature of the business. Its also important you are able to commute at all times of the day/night. You will be expected to work 45 hours per week.

Job description:

- Prepare and bake a variety of goods, including (but not limited to): various types of bread, various types of pastry, cookies, buns ect
- Operate ovens, dough mixers, sheeters and other baking machinery
- Good knowledge of baking techniques and styles
- A keen attention to detail, especially when following recipes, to ensure all ingredients are measured and mixed accurately
- Have the ability to organise and fulfil wholesale orders
- Good understanding of food hygiene practises, and COSHH
- Maintain organisation and cleanliness in the bakery
- Train new members of the team and develop their skills
- Lead the team with a positive, can-do attitude
- Be confident in being the lone baker in the shop at times during the night
- Liaise with front of house, and inform them of any production issues, and let them know what products will be available and when

**Experience**:
Ideally you will have at least 5 years experience in a comparative role.
