Do you have transport experience and manage a close knit, hard working team? The team consists of one transport manager, three drivers and five vehicles to manage. We are looking for a hands on individual who can safely manage drivers schedules and develop new working oppurtunities for the business. As well as someone willing to get involved in larger projects that may reuire them to drive or assist on site.

We are offering the opportunity to take charge of the company’s transport, where you will provide leadership and guidance, be responsible for customer liaison, day to day planning of deliveries, pricing work and collections, driver management. This role does NOT require a transport manager CPC as you will not be on the Operators License, compliance will be handled by an external TM.

Established in 2020, we are a family run business operating all range of vehicles from 3.5 tonnes to 44 tonnes, combined with a selection of Trailers and Moffett Forklifts.

The company prides itself on being the number one provider of refurbished freezer and chiller units to retailers across the UK. EMERALD Ltd also provides general haulage, storage, refrigeration installs and distribution services. This combined with a retailer store clearance, re-fitting team and 40,000 sq ft warehouse storage opportunities.

You will be working from our head office in Wibtoft (LE17) and have full responsibility for all transport related matters, with vehicles parked and utilised from 4 small operating centres across Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. All within a 14 mile radius.

A competitive package, 40 hr week and predominately Monday to Friday, with flexibility required where the work dictates.

The role:

- Ensuring compliance will all transport related undertakings, regulation and driver hours
- Organising driver duties and diary control
- Managing process and disciplinaries
- Maintaining relationships with customers and vehicle maintenance provider
- Generate revenue through other general haulage and backhaul opportunities
- Ability to cost jobs according to the activity, generating profit contribution
- Training and development

The person:

- Valid UK driving licence
- Proven track record in Transport management
- Knowledge of fleet operations and planning
- Geographical knowledge of the UK
- Knowledge of Excel and other MS software
- Ability to manage a P&L with sound commercial acumen
- Hold a C1 / C2 licence, but not essential
- 7.5 Tonne Driving Experience and valid CPC
